Accessibility Audit
The Accessibility Audit evaluates specific areas of existing buildings or campuses to assess the level of accessibility to services and facilities. It aims to identify necessary modifications or corrections required to enhance accessibility in accordance with legislative standards. The audit considers the needs of individuals with mobility impairments (including wheelchair users) and sensory impairments. By identifying physical barriers against predefined criteria, this assessment serves as the foundation for a continuous access improvement plan, which should be regularly updated by the committee or the Government.
Job role mapping and developing Inclusive HR policies
Many companies acknowledge that when given the right opportunities and roles are mapped to their abilities, individuals with disabilities can bring significant value to the organization. Youth4Jobs analyzes job roles in relation to different disabilities, identifying tasks that can be performed, necessary support systems, and opportunities to redefine roles to enhance accessibility and efficiency for persons with disabilities.
Sensitization Workshops
Assistive Technology (AT) plays a crucial role in enhancing accessibility and enabling people with disabilities to participate equally in the workforce. It empowers employees and job seekers to perform the same tasks as their colleagues, including using computers—a vital tool in today’s workplace. AT fosters greater independence, opens up new career opportunities, and places job seekers with disabilities on a more level playing field with other applicants. To create an inclusive workplace, employers should proactively integrate AT into their procurement plans, ensuring no additional barriers are introduced in the future.
